Spot Prone Skincare Routine

Hello everyone,

As you can tell from the title I have a skincare post for you about dealing with spot prone skin, and a tried and tested routine that will work if your dealing with blemishes. This is my skincare routine that I have used for a few years now and I can honestly tell you it have been a life savour.

Just to clarify I now have spot prone skin but I would say it's not normal than combination now.

The Steps -

Cleanse - I haven't included makeup removers because that for me changes all the time because that doesn't tend to affect my skin. Anyway the cleanser I swear by is the Biore Blemish fighting ice cleanser, I have loved this for around 3 years now, and it's changed my skin dramatically. This is something I use in the morning and afternoon, I use this with a soap and glory face massage mini mitt, this has also been a staple with this cleanser, it just allows you to work the product in and to get a clean base. I dampen my dace then I apply roughly a pump and a half on the damp mitt then work the product in, using circular motions.

Face Wash - I have had a love hate relationship with Neutrogena products, but this is the Visibly clear spot clearing facial wash, and this is a product I love! This foams up very nicely and makes your skin feel clean, and ready for moisturiser etc. I use this after cleansing to make sure all dead skin and bacteria is gone, I also use this with a damp face, put two pumps on my hand a again massage it in with circular motions.

Toner - A toner is no important with blemish prone skin, because it's all caused from a build up of dirt or impurities, I love the Lush tea tree water after face wash. This is a great product with it's no too harsh but it has tea tree which is great for dealing with spots. I spray this around 5 time all around my face then wipe away using a cotton pad, I again use circular motions.

Moisturisers - Another important step which is putting the moisture back into your skin, I have used this product for a few years now and it's the Clean and Clear dual action moisturiser, this is targeted for people with spots and blemishes. A moisturiser is so important because you need to put all the good things back into your skin, this is hydrating but doesn't make you look oily. I use about a pea size amount round my whole face after my face it dry from the toner.

Spot Treatment - Once you have found the best base products for your skin type you will need a spot treatment, this helps to clear your skin from blemishes and spots, but this also helps to prevent any as well as reducing swelling and redness. I use the Lush grease lightening treatment, this works wonders and clears your spots in under a week if you use it religiously. I apply this after moisturiser and apply a little amount around the blemish, you can use this all over your face, but I feel as it it dries my skin out too much.

Tips and tricks -

Adapt your skincare to you - This is the most important tip, if you have dry and spot prone skin don't use something that isn't too moisturising, this is the same for any product you use. Give what your skin needs otherwise nothing will work.

Stick to your routine - For some people they have great products that work but they never stick to the same routine, once you have used some products for a while stick to it! Your skin will start adapting to your products, but you have to stick to the same routine to see any changes and improvements.

Keep hydrated and Eat well - This is a big step and one that is the hardest for me, eating well and having a balance diet is going to help your skin tremendously. If you eat 5 bars of chocolate a week then this is going to have the opposite affect on your skin to what you want.

Stop exfoliating! - You may have realised that I didn't include a face scrub etc. This is because they don't help your blemishes and spots, you need to use gentle products on and around them otherwise because you can irritate then and spread the bacteria all over your skin... resulting in more spots!

Remove makeup - Never sleep in your makeup, remove it even if your half asleep! This will just clog your pores resulting in more spots even if your using makeup wipes it's better than nothing!

Clean your brushes - This again is a major step, you need to clean your makeup brushes! A build up of bacteria on your brushes is a bad idea, as it's going to spread germs and bacteria all over your face. If you don't use makeup brushes then make sure your hand/sponges are clean.

Stop touching your face - We never realise how many times that we actually touch are face during the day, this is a recipe for disasters with the amount of germs on your hands from your surroundings, if your going to touch your face have clean hands.

Less makeup is better - When you have spots and blemishes don't cover your whole face in thick makeup products, keep it minimal because you don't want to be irritating the spots making them worse, or even adding more already.

I hope this helped you!

Bedside Table Skin Care

Hello everyone,

Lately I have been sorting out my bedside table skin care routine, I have recently organised my skin care and I am very happy with the storage I have used.

This is an over view of the box, the box is from Primark and it cost £5, but when I got to the check out it was £1.50. This box is perfect for storing little things like skin care, just because it's sectioned and big enough.

In the big section on the left, and here I have the bigger bottles. I have a Skin Therapy moisturiser for oily and combination skin; this is from Wilkinsons, I use this moisturiser in the morning, before I put my makeup on. Next to that I have some E45, because I have been getting some dry patches on my face because of the weather. Then I also have this new serum I picked up yesterday, called FaceB4 After Cleansing Serum. Then my holy grail product, the La Roche Posay Effacer Duo which is the best thing if you have break outs!

Onto the top section, here I just have the Lush Grease Lightning, which is a stop treatment. And my other favourite moisturiser which is the Ren Daily Supplement moisturiser, followed by a hair band.

The lastly I have a benefit it's potent eye cream which is amazing for night and day time under your make up, it also very moisturising! Then I have two lip balms one is a Balmi, which is put on a night because it's very smooth but moisturising at the same time. Then my day time lip balm is the Nuxe Reve De Miel, which is a wonderful lip balm for the price (£9.50), and finally I have a body shop Cranberry Bliss hand cream!

I hope you have had a brilliant week, and next week is even better!

Boxing Day Lush Haul

Hello everyone,

On boxing day as you may know I went to go and buy my Macbook, but while I was in town I also popped into Lush, while they still had their christmas collection in sale, not much left but I got more than I needed; but to be honest I didn't even need this in the first place because of my Birthday and Christmas.

Onto the Lush haul -

Cinders and So White bath bomb

My favourite thing from Lush has to be the Cinders bath bomb, it looks amazing and smells it too! When I first smell this the scent of spices and mulled wine comes to mind; I love spices at Christmas time especially cinnamon! Then something that is very basics and doesn't scream Christmas, but this is the So White bath bomb, this is a very clean and fresh smelling it makes your bath look cloudy, this makes your skin feel amazing and is very nourishing.

Christmas Hedgehog bubble bar and The Melting Snowman bath melt

The Christmas Hedgehog is something I didn't think I would like, it has a scent of spice and musk but it's very light. Then the melting snowman is a wonderful bath melt, I come out and my skin feels brand new, it also smells like mulled wine and nutmeg.

Candy Mountain bubble bar and Cinders bath bomb

I think I have around 3 back ups of the candy mountain bubble bar, it's very sweet and not to everyones taste because it's sweet and sometimes overpowering, but I love using this with Snow Fairy shower gel because they both smell the same. And while I was in Lush I brought another one because it's my favourite, I can't believe this in limited edition! I now have 3 just in case for back ups.

Dashing Santa bath bomb and Baked Alaska Soap

Dashing Santa is one I haven't tried before before it didn't appeal to me that much, but this smells again quite fresh and clean, it isn't one of my favourite scents but it's good enough. Then my other favourite thing from Lush is the Baked Alaska soap, this smells so fresh and clean and is one of my favourite scents, it has grapefruit oil in it, and smells delicious!

My favourites of 2014!

Hello everyone,

I can't quite believe that we are coming to the end of 2014, this year has gone so quick and because it's coming to the end this means a favourites of 2014 post!

My favourites -

Makeup -

My first makeup favourite of 2014, has to be the Benefit Gimme Brow, this is a wonderful product that fills in, defines and cares of your brows! This looks so natural and only takes a few seconds to transform your brows. This can be used on it's own or over over products to set them in place.

Onto a lipstick, this is Mac's Lipstick in Creme cup, this is a great everyday lipstick and I have got a lot of use out of it since I brought it in August. It's a pigmented baby/nude pink, this is very creamy hence it being a cremesheen.

I think I found one of my favourite foundations through out this year, and it's the Bourjois 123 perfect, this is a correcting foundation with three pigments, yellow for anti-dark circles, mauve for anti-dull complexion and green for anti-redness. This is a great drugstore foundation, because it looks natural and helps to prefect any imperfections.

A powder that has had a lot of hype this year, is the Soap and glory one heck of a blot. This is a translucent and fine powder to help mattify your skin, what I love about this the most is that it doesn't add any colour to your skin, and doesn't make you look orange or even too pale, because one colour fits all.

The Nuxe Reve De Miel lip balm is great, it's a perfect all rounder, perfect for under lip products, perfect for dry and cracked lips but also it excels for hydrating your lips. This is one of the best lip balms I have tried, and I love this for every day.

Moving back onto Bourjois, I brought quite a lot of their Colour Boost glossy finish lip sticks. And long story short I have fallen in love with the two colours Orange punch (03) and Plum Russian (06), they are very glossy and look lovely on the lips, because they are a glossy lipstick they don't stay on the lips that well, but they are so easy to re apply that I don't mind topping them up.

Their is one mascara that I love, and that I will love for a long time, this is Benefit's They're real. A great mascara for getting length, but holding a curl and giving great volume!

Another lip product, this time from Sleek, this is their Matte Me lip creme in the colour Petal (435). This is a very pigment matte pink which is more of a baby pink. This looks matte and beautiful on the lips, and has great staying power.

Another lip product I love which is the Lush Santa's lip scrub, this is a paste scrub which work miracles at keeping your lips looks good, and is great at the dry and cracked areas on your lips. This is limited edition for Christmas, but all the other lip scrubs are just as good,

The HD Brows eye brown and eye shadow palette is great for travelling. It has a lot of neutral matte colours perfect for a every day eye look, but you can also use the colour to define your brows. It does a good job at filling in your brows, and then if you use the Benefit Gimme Brow on top, your brow game is very strong!

Lastly is a makeup product that is a stand out of 2014, or my ultimate product of this year! This is the Benefit Brow Zings brow shaping kit. This comes with a powder to fill in your brows, a wax to set everything, a hard angle brush to use with the powder, a blending brush to use with the wax and a mini pair of tweezers for any star hairs. This is in my eye a brow changing product.

Hair -

I have liked using the Toni & Guy sea salt spray for a few years now, but through out this year I have been using it more and in different ways. This gives great texture, and beach waves. One way I like using it is to spray it in the mid lengths of my hair, throw my hair in a bun on my head, then take out when finished getting ready. Or even curling my hair, then applying this in after to make the curls more rough and and beachy.

Something more recent, this is the COLAB dry shampoo in the scent New York, this is much better than Batiste dry shampoo. This one adds more body, volume and doesn't dry out your hair, it smells amazing and is by far the best one I have tried.

Scent -

A perfume I have recently brought is the Philosophy celebrate grace fragrance, this is a hard one to describe but smells fresh and fruity, but with a slight hint of floral. A great scent for everyday and one to throw on.

Onto a body spray, this is the Victoria's Secret Endless Love body mist. This smells like Herbal Essences shampoo, and is very fruity. It is meant to smell like apple blossom and ylang ylang.

Skincare -

This year I have fallen in love with one skin care brand, which is Ren! I brought one of their sets a few months ago and haven't looked back since. The Hot Cloth Cleanser is perfect for a mini pamper session every night when taking my makeup off, it feels amazing and takes off your makeup like no other.

Another Ren product is the Daily Supplement moisturising cream. This is my day time moisturiser, it hydrates and doesn't dry out. A little bit goes a long way but also it sits nicely under makeup.

Onto a skin care item I have mentioned loads of times, this is the Palmers Cocoa Butter, and my saving grace. Perfect for any thing, for hydrating dry areas from hands to face, or even using as a after sun.

Jewellery/Fashion -

I got given a Michael Kors bracelet when my dad and step mum went to America. I have loved it since the day I got it, it is a leather wrap bracelet with the MK in the centre, this is gold and is perfect with my Michael Kors pieces.

They are my products of 2014! Have you tried any, also I want to know what are your products of 2014? Comment below

Christmas Lush Haul

Hello everyone,

It is my Birthday tomorrow, and I went shopping with my Mum and Nan today for a few things, I got treated a bit to some pre-birthday goodies from Lush, and thought I would share with you what I got.

This is a massage bar called Snow Fairy Sparkle, this has the same scent as the Snow fairy shower gel and the Lush Magic wand bubble bar. This is very creamy and moisturising as well as very festive sparkle running through massage bar.

This is a bubble bar called The Wizard, this is a very pretty looking bubble bar with hints of shimmer going through it. It smells like the over powering but wonderful scent you get hit with when walking into a Lush shop, it claims to cast a jingle spell over weariness with this shimmering bubble bar that makes bath time magic.

This is a Lush bath bomb called Northern Lights, this is one of my favouirtes and a re purchase. This sparkling, colourful bomb turns your water into a night time spectacle, claims Lush. This makes your bath look and spell amazing, it's a different one from lush regarding the shape etc.

Another bubble bar which isn't Christmas orientated at all? Anyways this is the Christmas Hedgehog bubble bar, this is very creamy which makes me very happy because I can imagine it being very soft for the skin. This is very cute and sparkly.

This is one of my favouirte bath bombs that I haven't had yet this year! This is called So White, and is very understated because it looks nothing special, but this leaves your skin feeling wonderful, but the inside is even more special, also this smells like a high end spa.

Lastly, this is Drummers Drumming bubble bar, I love the concept of these want type bubble bars, because you get a lot for your money. But I wasn't a fan of the Magic Wand, this smells much nicer and less sweet.

Winter skin care routine

Hello everyone,

When it comes to winter then things that changes the most for me personally is my skin, this means a winter skin care routine has to be put in place to ensure my skin stays healthy and hydrated, here's what it consists of...

My winter skin care routine -

Starting for the beginning, I start off with a cleanser to remove my makeup; I like to use a moisturising and hydrating one. The Lush Ultrabland facial cleanser is the best for ticking all theses boxes. It removes my makeup then I follow with a hot cloth to remove it, it doesn't leave my skin feel stripped just nice and moisturised.(Link)

After cleansing my face a moisturiser is needed, I have two my first one being the Ren Daily supplement moisturising cream. This is great for under my makeup because it sinks in quickly and doesn't leave a shiny film over my skin, this lets makeup sit really nicely over it as well. But at night if my skin is feeling quite tight and dry, I head straight for the Simple hydrating light moisturiser, this is perfect for dry skin I even use this just on dry areas.(Link)

As well as keeping your face hydrated your eye can dry out just as much, an eye cream is seen to be for the older generating; preventing fine lines and wrinkles. But I use one for moisture during the colder months. This is a travel size of Benefit It's Potent eye cream, this is lovely and thick for the evening to moisturise your eyes, this is very gentle and an amazing product, this lasts for ever because you only need a little bit.(Link)

We all know that around Christmas we eat a lot of rubbish especially when the quality street's open. This means we can be more prone to blemishes and spots, but as you know my favourite product for this is the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo, this is a holy grail item to reduce redness, swelling and size for any spot. This again lasts for a long time and is a saving grace!(Link)

Lastly onto lips, they can get very dry which can lead to feeling chapped, red and dry lips but my favourite lip balm which in't Palmers, is the Balmi Lip balm. This is a EOS Lip balm dupe but 100 times more moisutirsing. (Link)

The Winter Tag -

- Top two winter beauty essentials?

My first one is the Palmers Coco Butter, this is my favourite for every season, the sun tot he freezing cold; this is great for chapped hands or even dry parts on your face and body. Then my second one is the Palmers Coco Butter Original Lip balm. Palmers is my favouirte thing every, and the lip balm is very moisturising and hydrating

- Top two winter fashion essentials?

This was very easy, to start off with my Primark/Lipsy coat, this is very warm and looks very put together and lovely with every outfit. Then my black heeled Chelsea boots.

- What shoes do you tend to wear during the winter?

Umm.. This has to be Chelsea boots, especially black boots.

- Favourite winter accessory?

My favourite winter accessory is my Ted Baker bag, this is the perfect size without being too big. It looks great with my coats and shoes.

- Favourite winter nail polish?

I don't wear nail polish, but I love berry reds.

- Hot chocolate or Apple cider?

Hot chocolate by far!

- Favourite winter candle?

Christmas Eve by Yankee Candle

- Snowboarding or skiing?

I have never done either of them, I would love to try them.

- Have you ever gone ice skating? How did you get on?

I have never done ice skating either, but in my local shopping center we have a ice rink, so i'll have to give it a go.

- Does it snow where you live?

It has done, now and then. But it's never 100% for sure, it didn't even snow last year. But when it does its in the early new year.

- Have you ever made a snowman?

I have attempted to, but it's never going to look like the perfect ones you seen on Google/adverts.

- What holiday do you celebrate?

I celebrate all of them, just not in a religious way.

- Favourite Christmas song?

WOW... their are too many. But I love The Pouges, Fairy tale of New York.

- Favourite Christmas film?

I like Elf, but I love The Snowman!

- What is your favouirte winter treat?

Cookies, I am going to talk about them in my Christmas Baking post coming soon.

- If you were to ask "Santa" for one gift, and you were guaranteed to get it, what would you ask for?

Well, being able to get good grades to get into University. Or a Newfoundland, because I miss Charlie too much and would love a puppy.

- Do you have anything fun planned this winter?

Well, my birthday gathering, my birthday, Christmas, Boxing day and New years seeing the London fireworks.

My Winter bath -

Last night I used this Lush bath bomb, called Golden Wonder. It looks so cute but ends up turning you bath blue, which isn't very Christmas orientated. (Link, this costs £3.75)

When I was in the bath last night, I used the Lush Snow Fairy Show gel, this is very sweet, but I love it. Also the colour is very nice and it smells like a sweet Christmas treat. (Link, this costs £3.75 for 100g)

I tag everyone to do this, and to tell me what your winter bath consist of?

Daily Beauty Essentials

Hello everyone,

On a daily basis we all have them product we use everyday to complete a makeup look. I thought I would share these products with you, I wear them everyday and especially to school.

I'm going to start off with face, what ever foundation I use I set it with the Bare Minerals Original Mineral Veil, I apply this last on to my T-zone, this creates a very nice healthy natural 'glow' without looking over the top. This may be on the pricey side of life but you use a tiny amount and it will last forever. This is a staple for me because if your having a rubbish or good skin day this will make you look awake and perfected. Ever since I brought the Benefit Gimme Brow (Light) I have used it ever since, I over looked this product a bit but decided to go for the plunge. I am so glad I did this fills your brows in amazingly, on it's own or layered it will look perfect. I love this for every day because it looks very natural but yet defined and it is so quick to use, and it looks as if you have spent an hour on your brows. A makeup look isn't complete without lippies, I have my favourite lip balm from Palmers always to hand, in my blazer pocket or hand bag this goes every where with me. It makes your lips feel super soft and moisturised, also this doesn't look over the top under lipsticks either. Moving swiftly on to lipsticks, I have found the perfect lip combination pair for everyday. my lipstick of choice is the Mac Cremesheen in Creme Cup, this is a pink nude which is a your lips but better colour, I apply this first then use the Revlon Colourburst Lacquer Balm on top in Demure, this is just like the mac lipstick but shiny, this looks perfect applied on top for a shine without being glossy; great for everyday!

My Pamper Favourites

Hello everyone,

Around mid day time I apply a hair mask, and try to let it sit in their for a few hours at least. I love the Body Shop Rainforest Moisturising Hair Butter, this leaves my hair feeling to hydrated and feeling very soft. (£8.00 - Link)

Then before I run a bath I apply a face mask, I have been using the Boots Botanics Shine Away Clay Mask. I leave this on for as long as I am in the bath for, this makes my skin feel a lot less oily and takes the shine away. (£6.99 - Link)

A pamper session isn't the same without a bath bomb. I have a Lush one because in my opinion they are the best, this one is called Big Blue. This looks and feels amazing in the bath, also this makes a bath feel a bit more luxurious. (£3.25 - Link

I love burning candles in the bath, they look so pretty with the lights off, and smell amazing! I have a Yankee Candle Large Jar Candle in Bunny Cake. This is something they don't sell anymore but any candle from them is amazing! (£19.99 - Link)

Beauty Haul

Hello everyone,

I kind of want to apologise for not posting that much this week, honestly I have been feeling really unmotivated and wanted a break. But I have a beauty haul for you, of a few new things I have brought lately.

The most important thing I brought was Bio Oil, this is the 60ml bottle. I needed this for my scar from my stitches, this has a lot of benefits like it specialists in scars, stretch marks, uneven skin tone, ageing skin and dehydrated skin. This has even been awarded a Beauty Insiders Choice award. (£8.99 - Link)

I mentioned that I wanted the Bourjois Java Rice Powder because it's such a throwback beauty product and very interesting. This is a product I haven't got to grips with yet for how to use it, but I will sure do a review. (£9.99 - Link)

Something which I have heard quite a lot about and that is the Nuxe Rive De Miel Lip Balm. I got this on a whim because I saw and I just kinda of needed it. I have used this a few times already and love it! (£9.50 -  Link)

Something very new from Maybelline in the UK, and this is the Baby Lips Electro. I brought all four of these, I brought the colours (from left to right) Strike a rose, Berry Bomb, Oh! Orange!, Pink Shock. These are brighter colours than the original, but I will have a review soon. Then I also brought a original Baby Lips in Cherry me as a repurchase. (£2.99 - Link, Link)

I will do review soon on everything! Have you been buying anything lately? Comment below.
