MUA Strobe & glow highlight kit

Hello everyone,

I have a review on a highlighter I have been using recently, which is the MUA Luxe Strobe and glow highlight kit in pearl gold. I have recently been loving highlighters even more, and thought considering the drugstore don't do too many I would review some good ones for you.

This highlighter compact comes in a pink metallic packaging which isn't too bulky considering the price and product, but I am not the biggest fan of metallic and it can look cheap. MUA are also selling a Bronze and Sculpt contour kit which is in similar packaging to this. This is a new product from MUA Luxe, which is their higher end range form the brand, this is available from Superdrug for only £5, but currently £4 (link here).

This strobe and glow kit comes with a decent sized mirror in the first section, and then you have the powder. This powder looks matte but has slight shimmers in the powder but I would class this as a satin powder, this is perfect on it's own or layered.

Under the powder is the cream highlighter, this is the sam texture as the Nars copacabana highlighter stick, as it's very smooth and silky. This is a champagne highlighter, this is a sheer highlighter but it's very build able. This highlighter can definitely be used quite sheer but it's definitely build able, this is lovely underneath the powder highlighter.

On the left if the swatch of the power and next to it is the cream highlighter. As you can se both of these products are sheer but build able. The way I use this is by starting off with the cream highlighter, using the Elf small stipple brush and stippling this onto my cheekbones, then I follow up with the powder using the Real Techniques duo fibre contour brush to pat on the powder on top, to set everything in place.

This highlighter gives you the most beautiful highlighter that is noticeable, without looking like a disco ball. This looks so natural but is defiantly build able, less is definitely more with this product because this can sit on top of the skin if you use too much. I have had multiple complements on my highlighter, to the point where people can't believe that is only costs £4, I would defiantly give this a try I think this is more suitable for people with normal to combination/oily skin, but if you ahem dry patches stay away form this product or only apply this where your not dry, as this can look very noticeable and patchy.

Product - MUA Luxe Strobe and glow highlighter in Pearl gold
Price - Brought for £4, was £5
Where from? - Superdrug
Pros - Affordable, easy to use, convenient and good packaging
Cons - Can look over the top, packaging looks 'cheap'
Best used - Over foundation, before powder
Brushes used - Elf Small stipple brush, RT duo fibre contour brush
Dupe - Cream formula reminds me of Nars Copacabana multiple, shades are similar not a match
Overall rating - 8/10, would definetley recommend this to a friend I have already

Favourites// A bit of everything

Hello everyone,

Good morning, I am up bright and early today, and instead of watching TV I thought I would do a blog post today. I am going to show you what I have been loving lately/ my top 5 favouirtes this week/month.

I have a mix of everything this month, which I suppose is a good thing!

I am going to talk about my sunnies first, these sunglasses are from Next. They look just like Ray Ban Club Masters, which are stunning. These were only £12.50, they suite me quite well I think. But the thing I love the most about this are they don't have a nose thing in the middle, this is great because it doesn't get stuck in your hair when you put them on the top of your head. I would reccomend these a great pair for the sunny months.(Couldn't find link)

Now moving onto something I have been loving for quite a while now, and this is the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer, I have the shade 15. This is a great coverage concealer without being over the top, I use this for under my eyes and on redness or blemishes. This is priced really well for a drugstore concealer, I highly reccomend this for everyone looking for a new concealer. - £5.99 (Link)

Next I have to mention a lip colour i'm loving. This is the MUA Power Pout in Justify. This is a very natural coral lip crayon, I think this is great if your looking to venture into different lip colours. The pigmentation is like a Cherry Me Baby lips sort of pigment, but you can build this up to look more vibrant and bold. These are only £3 (Link)

I only have one high end favourite, this is the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Pink Quartz, Tanya Burr has been going on about for a lot recently. This is why I decided to dig it out again, it is a perfect highlight, it makes you look glowing and healthy. I would reccomend this for a highlight just because it's a multi purpose products, you can use this on your cheeks and eyes, and it's amazing! A great highlight. - £32.50 (Link)

My last product is a hair item, this is the Herbal Essences Hello Hydration shampoo and conditioner. I have use Herbal Essences for a long time, but forget about it. Recently I have been using this again because it's getting hotter and I feel like my hair is getting dryer, but not anymore because I am using a wonder products. I would reccomend this for every hair type, I would use this more in my hotter months. I love it so much for moisturising my hair I am taking this to Turkey with me!I also forgot to mention that this smells, amazing! This is summer in a bottle, and for your hair to smell like summer is a plus. - £3.99(Link)

Spring Makeup Look

Hello everyone,

Once again I was wondering what I can do and I though of My Spring Makeup favorites/routine. Also this is my opinion and you can mix and change things up to make it your own individual look. I hope this is helpful...

 Base

In Spring I love a medium coverage base and then save the dewy and light coverage for Summer. My favourite foundation at the moment is the Mac Studio Fix Fluid in NC15, this also has SPF 15 so if it is sunny one day you will be protected. Contour and bronzing your face is a must for any season, I like the Bourjois bronzing powder in shad 51, I use this very lightly because it can look quite orange for pale skin. For a blush I love using Mac sheer tone blush in Pinch o' peach, I love this in the spring and summer it's a great sheer and matte baby pink blush. Because the Mac Blusher is matte I love using the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Pink Quartz, I only love this highlight with matte blushers because it looks stunning the colour really complement the matte blush.

Eyes and Lips

In spring I wear a bit more colour on my eyes but still keeping it natural, and I love the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Yogurt, this is an amazing over the lid colour, inner corner highlight or on the water line. It looks amazing because it's a shimmery gold, a must for Spring. For mascara I have been loving the L'Oreal Mega Volume Collagene 24hr mascara because it lengthens and volumises and it makes your lashes look amazing. I think going stronger on the lashes bring the whole look together. Then for lips I have a nude option which is Mac's Liptstick in  Angel, this is a great nude with pink undertones, but I also think more colour looks great to and I picked the MUA Power Pout in Justify, this is an amazing peach orange.
