The Positive Side Of Life

Hello everyone,

I am sorry I have been MIA since Saturday, but to be honest I have just been in a s**t mood. I am going to talk to you about how I have been feeling lately, as well as the positive side of life as well as a DIY positivity box to keep you happy and on track.

Update:

I wanted to do a blog post about dealing with bad news because this kind of ties in to this post a bit. But to be honest with you I have been in a difficult place for a few years now and everything is having a knock on effect, it started back in April 2014, when my dog Charlie passed away, he was literally my brother, I thought the world of him and he was my go to person to 'talk' to I loved him a lot. Since we lost him I have been the worst at letting thins out and talking to people about my feelings, because I have lost my brother I haven't spoken to many people about my feelings, this is because I find it hard to trust someone, as well as opening up to people, I am just someone who keeps things bottled up because no one truly understands how I am feeling apart from myself.

Then everything has gone down hill since April 2014, to start with my nan hasn't been very well last year she had to have an operation, then this year (April 2015) she had a stroke which turned into blood clots as well, then we found out she has Cancer. This was hard to except and devastating for the whole family. Then my auntie was diagnosed with cancer, then we found out last week that my nan's cancer had spread. This is just heart breaking for many reasons as you may be able to understand, this couldn't have came at a better year obviously, but this year was probably the worst year.

As you may know I was sitting my GCSE's which was a struggle in it's self but I was having to deal with the one year anniversary of Charlie's passing, as well as dealing with all of this with my family. It made it much stressful for me and made it difficult to concentrate during revision, exams as well as at home. I wanted to spend all my time at the hospital but I was having to go to school because my exams were getting closer every day. This doesn't seem too much when typing it all out, but for me it was too much to deal with all at once, especially keeping it all to myself letting it build up. Also dealing with Anxiety and panic attacks at the same time wasn't making the situation any easier, when I was in exams and lessons I felt anxious and felt as if I was panicking about everything.

It still isn't getting any easier, I keep saying to myself 'Why me?, why is it all at once?'. The thing is their is a lot more that I am not sharing with you or that I haven't shared with anyone, this is part and parcel of me bottling everything up, which isn't healthy I know...

To stay positive:

Staying positive at these times are the only thing you can do, and to stop making it worse I have made a box of positivity which is so simple, but it can cheer you up when your feeling down.

This is my box which was from Weymouth, it came with a bigger and smaller one which matches. In this box I simply wrote down meaningful quotes and song lyrics on some post it notes which are inspiring, motivational and positive. This is great to come back to now and then when your feeling a bit down, this can lift your spirits a lot. I also think it would be a cute idea to write down happy memories as well as adding picture of things that make you happy.

Results day:

I also wanted to mention that on Thursday is results day for my GCSE  exams, I am nervous, scared, excited and relieved. Last year I done a year 10 results where I talked to you about how I was feeling before my results, what I am hoping for etc, then I shared my results with and my my thoughts after. So I am going to do the same this year, which will be up Thursday about 12 ish.

Stay tuned for Thursday...

DIY Chocolate Frappe

Hello everyone,

I have been obsessed with the Mcdonalds Frappe both the chocolate chip and caramel, because I have been so in love with them I thought making my own would be more convenient and cheaper. I only tried making just a plain chocolate one but I am definitely going to try more flavours etc, I really want to make a peppermint one for the winter.

What you will need:

- Coffee, Kettle etc.
- Sugar
- Milk
- Whipped Cream
- Ice
- Blender
- Chocolate Sauce
- Chocolate Flakes
- Cup
- Straw (I have a paper straw)
  • 1. Make your coffee in a mug, I done a teaspoon and a half of general coffee, here you can chose your favourite wether that is Decaf etc. I also added a teaspoon and a half of granulated sugar to make this sweeter. Once you have added all of this you need to fill the mug with the coffee majority of the way but leaving some room for milk, I roughly added a quarter of a cup of milk, you need to add a decent amount but it all depends on your preference with coffee as well.
  • 2. Let your coffee stand for around 10 minutes to cool down, then you need to place it in the fridge for around 30-45 minutes, the longer you leave it in their the colder your drink will be.
  • 3. Now once your coffee has cooled down, you need to get your blender and place the coffee, a lot of ice as well as a tea spoon or more of your chocolate sauce, again this depends on your preference with how much chocolate. This is also where you can switch up the ingredients, if you would prefer caramel you can use a caramel sauce etc. Then you need to let this blend for around a minute.
  • 4. Once everything is blended, you want to place your drink in a nice cup mine were from Next and Tesco. You can add some more ice in if you prefer it being colder, like I did.
  • 5. Now to decorate I added some whipped cream, as well as some more chocolate sauce and some chocolate flakes from the cooking part in Asda, then place in your straw of choice, I recommend paper ones because it makes the drink very Tumblr esc.
  • 6. Now drink up and enjoy!
I will be doing more Frappe posts, especially the peppermint one around winter time!

Motivational Frames

Hello everyone,

After reading Love Tanya (read my book review here), I have been thinking a lot about where I want to be and what I want to do in 5, 10, 15 + years. To keep me motivated and happy I have done a motivational frame board where I got this idea from Dolly Bow Bow when she done a video about her room tour (click here).

I have had this frame lying around my house for a month now, and never had a use for it. This is a photo frame college from Wilkinson which was around £18. These size of this is 6 by 4 inches, which is a standard picture size.

For my frame I had a theme of motivation and my dreams/goals. I started off using some postcards that I brought from Paperchase, they do some lovely post cards and at such a cheap and affordable price. Also with my other pictures I got them all off Tumblr.

Because I wanted to plan out where I was going to put everything, I decided to put a put some post it notes on where I was going to put each picture. Also once I found my photos on Tumblr I put them on Pages to resize the, to 6 by 4 inches.

This is what my final frames turned out like, as I mentioned above I chose pictures that make me happy but motivated to achieve my goals. I chose this picture of a man and women in Christian Louboutin shoes because it such a powerful, but lovely photo. Then also this postcard saying 'Smile' is from paper chase, and it just cheers you up. Then the Eiffel Tower because I really would love to go to Paris one day. Then I have a row of quotes one saying 'Keep your eyes on the stars, and your feel on the ground.' then another one saying 'Do what you love' I put this is the middle because it is very true and makes me want to achieve and to do what I love. Then the infinity smuggler because it looks beautiful and means a lot of things. Then lastly I have another two postcards from paper chase, then a picture of a beach at the bottom because I love being my the sea and on beaches because I feel relaxed and calm.

I think this is a great idea, and recommend everyone to do it because it does remind to you stay happy.
