Today I done some baking inspired by Estee, Essiebutton. On her blog she done a post about baking Easter biscuits/cookies. I had to try them, and I am telling you this they are amazing!
Yummy!!!
The Ingredients//
- 200g butter, at room temperature
- 200g caster sugar
- 1 egg
- 400g plain flour
- To decorate
- 250g royal icing sugar
- assorted food colourings
1. Preheat your oven to Gas mark 4/180 Degrees Celsius/Fan - 160 Degrees Celsius
2. Mix the butter and caster sugar into a large mixing bowl, mix until light and fluffy. You can use a mixer or a wooden spoon.
3. Then beat in the egg until well mixed.
4. After gradually add the flour, (you don't want a dust cloud ;) Use your hands to bring the mixture into a soft dough.
5. Next roll out your dough until it's a thickness of around £1 coin. Don't forget to flour your surface and rolling pin, it's your best friend!
6. Then you can have fun with different cutter, I use a flower shape in two different shapes.
7. After cutting them out place on a lined (baking paper baking tray. Then place them in the oven for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
8. Waite for them too cool down, then enjoy decorating. I use some Baby pink and Hot pink icing then some sprinkle on top.
Have fun and go wild with decorating! Happy Easter.
